Trainee Paraplanner / Paraplanner
Overview
We are seeking a Trainee Paraplanner / Paraplanner to join our Stonebridge team, an appointed representative of Rosebridge. You must be able to work within a small team and have the confidence to deal directly with clients. We are looking for an individual who has drive and determination to succeed in their role, with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn and a “can do” attitude.
You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing clear and concise correspondence.
You should have previous experience with the Financial Services Industry and ideally have commenced study with the CII.
We are looking for a career focused Paraplanner, who is not looking to become an Adviser in the near future.
Position Status:
Permanent Full Time
Expected hours of work:
Standard hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Friday with one hour each day for lunch.
Role:
- Provide support to Senior Paraplanner where necessary, including taking on ad hoc tasks for existing client meetings, prospect clients, enquiries etc.
- Prepare pre-meeting fund research and fund reviews for existing clients.
- Maintain ongoing research and reviews of in-house fund portfolios and liaise with in-house investment committee and investment analysts on this.
- Assist other team members in maintaining an accurate back office system and other client records.
- Provide report writing support including production of high quality suitability reports for client reviews and new business, ensuring they are delivered in an efficient and compliant manner whilst mitigating any risks to the business.
- Carry out research on existing and newly recommended products, obtain quotes and supporting application documentation.
- Assist in using Cashflow Forecasting to create a robust client file, and present Cashflow Forecast in client meetings.
- Provide technical support in all aspects.
- Maintain suitability report templates and report appendices templates.
- Proactively enhance industry and company knowledge, through external and internal sources. Participate in appropriate company and departmental training, competence and development initiatives.
- Answer telephone and deal with initial telephone enquiries.
- Answer intercom to meet and greet visitors.
- To carry out other duties as may reasonably be required to support all team members.

- Produce all written communications/correspondence to a high standard and high level of accuracy. Accurate grammar is vital for maintaining our professional image and ensuring clear communication.
- Provide all documentation within a strict ethical and compliance framework under guidance from the internal compliance team and internal policy and procedures.
- Manage own workload, be able to multitask and prioritise effectively, and provide updates to line manager.
- Use proficient IT skills – should be fully competent in Microsoft applications.

Probationary Period:
6 months
Benefits:
- Covered by company death in service scheme on completion of probationary period (4 x basic salary).
- 3% Employer Pension Contribution after 3 months with a 5% gross contribution required by the employee.
- Annual holiday entitlement in any holiday year (1st Jan – 31st Dec) is 25 days with additional tiering on length of service (expected to reserve 3 days of holiday entitlement each year to cover period between Christmas and New Year, during which time the Company shuts down).
