First Boots, Big Dreams: Welcoming the Under-6s to Ramsbottom United

Every season, around 40 girls and boys lace up their football boots for the first time and step onto the pitch as part of Ramsbottom United’s Under-6s squad. It’s a place where friendships are formed, confidence develops, and children take their first steps in a lifelong love of the game.

Each week, the Under-6s programme brings the game to life with drills, mini-matches, and team activities that encourage players to support one another and face new challenges. For families, the club becomes a welcoming space to connect, share experiences, and celebrate progress that goes far beyond the final score.

Rosebridge have been part of this journey for several years, sponsoring both the Under-6s and the club’s first team. Our connection runs deeper than sponsorship alone: our CEO Phil Rose once captained Ramsbottom United himself, and that history continues to guide how we support the club. From providing kits to welcoming each child onto the pitch, we aim to help every player feel part of the squad from the very first day.

Following signing-on day, it was fantastic to see the young players settle in, enjoy the game, and start becoming part of Ramsbottom United’s community.
