We celebrated 5 years at our head office in Ramsbottom

On 2nd December 2024, Rosebridge celebrated its 5th anniversary at our head office in Ramsbottom.

Our building, originally known as ‘Top o’th’ Brow,’ dates back to the 1780s and began as a private residence. It was renamed ‘Grant Lodge’ in 1807 when purchased by the Grant family, who had recently settled in Ramsbottom.

In 1828, the building was transformed into ‘The Grant Arms,’ a pub and hotel run by industrialists Daniel and William Grant. These brothers are believed to have inspired the Cheeryble brothers in Charles Dickens’ novel, ‘Nicholas Nickleby.’

The Grant Arms was closed as a pub in 2017, before being purchased by Rosebridge in 2018. We lovingly restored the building, giving it a new lease of life while ensuring it continues to serve as a cornerstone of Ramsbottom’s cultural heritage.

Today, 30 Rosebridge team members operate within its walls, transforming it from a place for pints to a place for financial advice!

Our team members achieved essential qualifications

As we reflect on the year, we cannot help but feel incredibly proud of the milestones our team members have achieved in their professional development.

  • In March, Chris Morley successfully earned his Diploma in Financial Planning. Since joining Rosebridge in 2022, Chris has been an essential part of the team as a Client Relationship Manager, offering crucial support to the advisers and helping to enhance the overall experience for our clients.

  • In August, Lewis Harrison also earned his Diploma in Financial Planning. Lewis, who joined Rosebridge in 2023 as a Client Relationship Manager, has quickly become a key contributor of our team, offering valuable assistance to advisers and making significant contributions to the success of our client relationships.

These achievements are the product of countless hours of hard work and showcase the strength of our team, a group that excels through collaboration, mutual support, and ongoing growth. Together, we inspire one another to deliver the highest level of service to our clients. Here’s to many more successes ahead!

We have continued to support charitable causes

Alongside supporting our clients and enhancing our services, we are dedicated to aiding charities that make a difference locally and beyond. This year, Rosebridge proudly backed various impactful causes.

Ramsbottom United Football Club

Rosebridge is honoured to have been the first team sponsor of Ramsbottom United FC again this year. Our connection to the club runs deep, with two team members having previously played for Ramsbottom United, Tom Kennedy, one of our Financial Advisers, and our CEO, Phil Rose, both also having served as the club’s captain.

This year, along with sponsoring all Ramsbottom Juniors teams and supplying season tickets to all junior members, we provided 32 new football shirts for the talented young players in the Under-6s team.

“Ramsbottom United is all about community and passion, which is why I’m thrilled to support their mission of bringing in the next wave of players and fans. This sponsorship is our way of giving back and making a real impact locally.”– Phil Rose, CEO

In April, Rosebridge were thrilled to be one of the main sponsors of the 2024 NSPCC Fashion Show in Manchester. Alongside some of our wonderful female clients, we marked our third year of participation.

It was an afternoon filled with fashion, food, and entertainment at the prestigious Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Manchester. All proceeds raised went towards funding Childline North West, a vital service offering free, 24/7 confidential support to children and young people.

Ramsbottom’s MacMillian coffee morning

In September, our Ramsbottom office held our annual team MacMillian coffee morning. The event was a fantastic opportunity for our team to come together, enjoy some treats, and raise money for a crucial cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides invaluable emotional, practical, and financial assistance to those affected by cancer, ensuring no one faces their journey alone.

Starting Box charity ball

On 23rd November, Grace Parry and her Starting Box team hosted their first ever charity ball. The event was a night to remember, featuring an auction, raffle, live band, and entertainment.

Starting Box is a charity dedicated to providing practical and comforting items to patients undergoing chemotherapy on the Shooting Star Cancer Ward in Wrexham Maelor Hospital. In total, the ball raised a phenomenal £24,000.

“The ball was amazing, and we all had such a wonderful evening. We cannot thank everyone enough for their support leading up to the event and everyone who attended. Our guests made it a night full of laughter and dancing. We raised £24,000 which is an incredible amount. This means we can increase our content budget to £30 per box and upgrade the products we buy to better the overall quality.” – Grace Parry

Christmas charity activities

This festive season, we proudly supported a range of charity initiatives, striving to make a meaningful difference in our communities. You can read more about the projects we backed this Christmas in our dedicated article.

Giving back remains a cornerstone of our values, and we look forward to continuing our work with charitable organisations in 2025.

We built stronger relationships through social events and team-building experiences

At Rosebridge, it hasn’t all been about hard work; we have also enjoyed social events and team-building days that have helped strengthen our connections.

In August, we hosted our annual terrace party for our team at our Ramsbottom office on a lovely summer evening. The night featured a pub quiz and karaoke, with plenty of laughs and friendly competition as everyone joined in the fun.

In October, all three of our offices, Ramsbottom, Chester and Leeds, came together for a fantastic day of teambuilding at Catton Hall, diving into clay pigeon shooting and quad biking and enjoying a delicious BBQ.

For our Christmas party this year, we ventured into Manchester city centre for an afternoon of axe throwing at Whistle Punks, followed by pool, darts, and prosecco pong at Pong & Puck. To wrap up the celebrations, we enjoyed a festive feast at The Old Bank in Ramsbottom.
